The World Installer Challenge Rematch
- The goal is to install a competition quality car
stereo system.
- The players are two teams of five among the
nation’s top installers.
- They must complete the installation in just 48
hours!
- The final outcome is a trip to the U.K. to
take on the Brits.
The West Coast team from Sema 2004, and the East Coast team
from CES 2005 went head to head at the Daytona Spring Break Nationals. It was a close showdown, but in the end the
West Coast team dominated the show. Now
the “new” team USA lead by
Dustin Younger will take on the “new” U.K. team in a rematch steaming
from March 2004. The U.K. beat the Americans that year, but the “new”
team USA
promises to bring back the glory where it belongs. In the USA!
Team USA
is made up of five talented installers who all work for different companies
across the U.S. The team captain is Dustin Younger working
for Good Vibrations Autosound, in Hutchinson, KS.
Dustin has been installing for over 12 years.
The master craftsman of materials is Troy Burkhart from Regal Audio
Video in Hays, KS., whom also has 12 years of
installation experience. Luke Gray is a Tuscon, AZ., SPL king.
He has been seen in the judging lanes many times, and has been in a few
Installer Challenge events. Pete Riker
has experience from a few shops and now resides at The Specialists in Tuscon, AZ.
Pete has gained many years of installation experience, since the tender
age of 16. The final member of the team
was a last minute replacement. The
original member was Frank Buchman from Sounds Good
Stereo in Woodland,
Hills, CA. He
was unable to attend Daytona, so his replacement is none other than Louis
Gonzales. He now works for Southern Auto
Sports in Corpus Christi, TX.
Louis lent a hand in everything from fabrication to wiring, and was a
great asset to the team.
Stay tuned for the final results from the
USA/UK rematch!
